Usually I have a good eye when it comes to seeing furniture’s hidden potential, but I admit that if I had seen the above dresser in a thrift store, I would have walked right past it. However, Michelle from Three Men and a Lady did not. She took the dresser home and turned it into this:

She didn’t stop there, either–she painted the lamp and made the painting above the dresser by tracing the design onto the painting via a projector, and, after protecting the design with contact painter, painting over the negative space around it to create a shadow effect. Her finished bedroom looks awesome, not to mention expensive, and all for what appears to be minimal cost. This is one talented lady. I highly recommend giving her blog a look. (Via Better After.)

Chandelier From Paper Clips

Speaking of lights made from wire, here’s a chandelier made out of paper clips. Pretty cool idea! Looks like ReDesign Technologies “deconstructed [a] cast-off lamp shade” and used the round wire circles from that as the structural elements of the chandelier. Then they forms a patterned design with the paper clips and used them as a kind of chain mail between the circles. Hang a light bulb down the center, and voila!

I am continually fascinated by how lamps and chandeliers can be made from almost anything. $185 on Etsy. (Via Rare Bird Finds)
