El Presidente Cocktail

Whatever your political affiliation, I’m sure we can agree that it’s a relief the presidential election is almost over. So how about a good stiff El Presidente cocktail to help us bear the political ads for one more day? Originally from Cuba, think of it like a Manhattan only with rum instead of bourbon and curaçao instead of bitters. Recipe from the site:

El Presidente

Ingredients:

    2 oz rum
    1 oz dry vermouth
½ tsp orange curaçao (Clement Creole Shrubb Liqueur, Grand Marnier)

Directions:

Combine ingredients and stir with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with an orange slice. Or with something red or blue, depending on your politics.
