Strawberry Tarragon Cocktail

Drink of the Week and I have come up with another cocktail this week. We mixed fresh strawberries, lemon juice, and tarragon with gin, and oh boy, this one is dangerous. It doesn’t taste like alcohol at all, plus it’s sweet, fresh, and pretty.

While this drink is a little more girlie than our usual concoctions, it’s is far from a syrupy club drink. The tarragon–which most grocery stores carry in the produce section–gives it a hint of spiciness and adds depth to the sweetness of the strawberries. Plus it works great with the botanical nature of the gin.

Give this cocktail to a friend who doesn’t like the taste of liquor, and she’ll thank you.

Strawberry Tarragon Cocktail

(Makes one cocktail)

Ingredients:

1 1/2 oz gin, preferably Hendricks
    3 sprigs fresh tarragon
    1 oz fresh lemon juice
    1/2 oz simple syrup
    3 strawberries

Directions:

Muddle the berries, tarragon, and simple syrup in a cocktail shaker. Add gin and lemon juice. Shake with ice and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a strawberry, if desired. Enjoy!

That sounds delish. Last month I was making lots of lemonade with gin & mint, and then gin & basil. Love your tarragon/strawberry idea!
